Coming to the Library
Books and Computer

  • Before school, breaks, noon and after school: You can come into the library to study, read or use the computers. You need to be respectful of others and be quite. If you just want to talk to your friends -- go outside.

  • During Class time: You must have a Pink Library Pass you get from your teacher to use the library. Give it to the Librarian or Library Assistant when you come in. It will be time stamped with the time you arrived. When you leave we will time stamp you out.

  • If you have an unassigned period and would like to use the library you can obtain a semester library pass from the Library Assistant . You must have the pass to enter the library.

  • When you come to the library with a class you must have your Student I.D. to check out library material.

Checking Out Materials

  • Books -- 10 student days (@2 weeks) You MUST have your student I.D. to check out library materials
  • Magazines -- 3 student days (Current issues are in-library use only.)
  • Textbooks -- in-library use only.
  • Renewals -- You can renew a book twice, each for 10 days. If a HOLD as been placed on your book you cannot renew.
  • You can check out 5 items at a time, but no more than 2 magazines at a time
Fines
  • 20 cents a day, maximizing at $5.00 per item.
  • $1.00 per hour for overdue in-library materials.

Holds

There are two types of holds you can place on library materials.

  • Student Hold -- If you do not have your I.D. card, have an overdue item, or owe a library fine and you want to check something out the library will hold the book for 3 days for you to check out after you have cleared your fines or brought your I.D. card. This is called a student hold.

  • Computer Hold -- If a book is checked out that you would like to read, you can place a hold on the book in OPAC using your Student I.D. number as your I.D. and your last name as your password. Or you can ask the librarian to do it for you. This is called a computer hold.
